About Me

I am originally from the greater Indianapolis area. I did my undergraduate work at Purdue University before going off to do multiple engineering positions within the food industry including assignments in New Mexico, Missouri, and Minnesota. After a time, I returned to graduate school to study education.

To support my graduate work, I was the recipient of the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship. Much of my research and specialized expertise focuses on how to teach foundational computational thinking and programming skills to students of all ages.

In 2024, I began working for the University of Notre Dame College of Engineering as an Assistant Teaching Professor, teaching and coordinating their first-year sequence of engineering courses.

External to my teaching and research, I very much enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. As my daughters are currently very young, this oftentimes looks like rolling around on the floor and going on walks. It also involves reading a lot of books made of cardboard and singing nursery rhymes.

Outside of spending time with my family, I enjoy going on walks with my two golden doodles, traveling, sports, and playing all different types of musical instruments (drums, guitar, etc).
