Dr. Lyon has visits local K-12 schools around Indiana to talk with students about:

• The field of engineering and what engineers do. Oftentimes K-12 students don't understand what engineering looks like or how broad of a field it truly can be. 

• Adjusting to the university setting for first-generation students. As a first-gen student himself, Dr. Lyon understands the unique challenges facing these students and their families.
